12.4. Receiver Sensitivity versus Data Rate and Frequency Separation
The receiver sensitivity depends on the
channel filter bandwidth, data rate, data
format, FSK frequency separation and the
RF frequency. Typical figures for the
receiver sensitivity (BER = 10 3) are
shown in Table 19 and Table 20 for FSK.
For best performance, the frequency
deviation should be at least half the baud
rate in FSK mode.
The sensitivity is measured using the
matching network shown in the application
circuit in Figure 3, which includes an
external T/R switch.
