94 / 356 page  µPD17704, 17705, 17707, 17708, 17709 94 10.4 Operation of Data Buffer Stack Figure 10-3 shows the operation of the data buffer stack. As shown in the figure, when the PUT instruction is executed, the contents of the data buffer are transferred to a data buffer stack register specified by the stack pointer, and the stack pointer is incremented by one. When the GET instruction is executed, the contents of a data buffer stack register specified by the stack pointer are transferred to the data buffer, and the stack pointer is decremented by one. Therefore, note that the value of the stack pointer is set to 1 if data has been written once because its initial value is 0, and that the stack pointer is set to 0 when data has been written four times. Note that when writing (PUT) exceeding four levels, the first data are discarded. Figure 10-3.
